Dear Writers,
This is a quick note to let you know about a few helpful fixes and updates to the Switch-Lit platform in hopes of a more frictionless and fun experience.
The mobile experience is legit!
If you’ve used Switch-Lit on a mobile device 🤳, you’ve probably noticed it was a little rough around the edges. But as of now, it looks and feels a lot smoother, so don’t hesitate to fire it up while you’re on-the-go and story inspiration hits.
The editing process is correct!
Prior, you might have been confused by some incorrect notifications about whose turn it was to edit, and perhaps even the overall editing process 😅. Apologies for the confusion, but we’re now sending the correct notifications to the correct user at the correct time. The plumbing, so to speak, is fixed.
As a reminder, here’s how the editing process works (also turn-based):
Whoever writes the last chapter chooses who will be the first editor.
The first editor will edit and submit all of their chapters.
The second editor will edit and submit all of their chapters, and can additionally choose to repeat another round of edits (go back to step 2) , or submit for finishing (titling, publishing).
The submissions are easy!
Before you might have felt unsure if you submitted your finished story to us or not. Now, if you don’t submit your story to us during the titling process, then both writers can still submit the story to us for potential publishing in the Switch-Lit Library.
Go to “My Library” and underneath your newly finished story, you’ll find a “Submit to us” button. Click it to submit your story to us, and that’s it! 📬
The Table of Contents is colorful!
For any published story, you’ll notice that the Table of Contents now has the writer’s color avatar beside each corresponding chapter. Bonus: As you navigate each chapter, the writer’s color avatar is also visible beside their chapter’s heading.
